Ted Kennedy was rushed to the hospital today

Posted by kayinmaine on May 17, 2008

(pic-All American Patriots)

He appears to be doing okay after suffering a seizure. Let’s hope he’s back in the saddle soon.! We need him right now. :-)

One of the most poignant moments today while canvassing neighborhoods was when I went into a group home for the elderly. There was only one woman who was a registered Democrat according to our records (there could have been more, but as a home like this goes, people come and people go) at this house. Her name is Marjorie and when I knocked on the door, I heard @ 12 voices saying, “Come in!”. I did and I asked for Marjorie and being thrilled to have a “young person” in their midst a few of them took me up to her room which was on the top floor.

I entered Marjorie’s room, introduced myself, and then told her why I was there. Throughout our conversation she kept saying, “I’m a Democrat”, and I would reply, “I know and that’s why I’m here, Marjorie. Are you a proud Democrat, Marjorie?”, and she, of course, would tell me ‘yes’. So sweet this woman was!

Well, during the middle of our conversation, she said to me, “Did you hear about Ted Kennedy?”, and I said, “No. What’s going on with him?”, and she said, “He was airlifted out of Cape Cod today and they think he may have suffered a stroke. She looked at me quietly with tears in her eyes. OMG! I’ve seen those tears before too, because my grandmother LOVED the Kennedy’s with all her heart. Marjorie, who appeared to be in her mid to late 80’s, seemed devastated to me. I spent some extra time with her talking about the Kennedy’s and what they meant to her and how awful it would be to lose Ted right now.

I told her about how just a few days ago Ted Kennedy was on the floor of the Senate screaming because the republicans were playing another one of their dirty tricks, and Ted being Ted, he was not about to let the assholes get away with it. I told Marjorie, “I thought when I was watching him that he’s going to have a heart attack”, and she said, “Nope. He had a stroke.” LOL

From what I gathered on the radio today, Ted Kennedy was able to talk to family members, so that’s a good sign. Hurry back Ted! We need you during this most historic time! :-)

I knocked on 50 doors today. Most of the people I spoke with were pretty darn nice. The Iraq occupation and healthcare seem to be on the minds of the Democrats that I spoke with. The economy too. Not surprising.

What did you do today? My son left an hour ago to spend the night at a friend’s house and I spent some time outside working in the yard. Tomorrow if the weather is nice, I plan to do some more yard work. So much fun! I just put in some Dahlias, Peruvian Daffodils, and some Lilies. If they actually start to grow and bloom, I’ll take a picture to show ya.

I’m canvassing neighborhoods today with fellow Democrats…

Posted by kayinmaine on May 17, 2008

…so I’ll be gone for a few hours this morning…well…until the weather holds out. Looks like it might rain today. Bummer!

Christy Harden Smith posted a thread on FireDogLake recently asking, “In Need of Motivation?”, and she included the following video:

I can’t express enough how wonderful it is to be working alongside the Democrats in my town and region. They’re all great people and this year is fantastic because a lot more younger people are participating….and we have YOU-KNOW-WHO to thank for that! Barack Obama is truly a light for the Democratic Party right now. On Thursday evening when I met with the other Obama delegates/alternates, there was one REALLY old woman who was there. This woman has the energy of a 25 year old and the humor & sarcasm of a Mainah that is addicting! Loved her. Hey, if this woman could participate at her age, how about you? :-)

A month or so ago, my local Democrats and I did some cold calling to party members in the area to get a feel on who they’ll be supporting locally. I made a couple of calls (which was so much fun! Most people are happy to talk with you…remember that), but mainly, my job was to enter in the information received after each call into the Democrat’s state database. You wouldn’t think doing data entry is a big deal, but honestly it is, because the Party as a whole likes having a snapshot of what people are thinking and feeling. Anyways, I got a card from the Maine Democratic Party Regional Director for Oxford & Franklin counties (she’s in her 20’s and is extremely organized and so far has done a dynamic job of keeping everyone going forward!), and here’s what she said to me:

Dear Kay,
>
Thanks so much for your help at the phone bank in Norway. We made some of the first calls of a coordinated campaign in the country! A great start!
>
We are going to keep up the great work that you helped start and win these races.
>
Thanks again,
>
Michelle

Can you believe that? We were some of the few in the country who had gotten started! And who do we thank besides ourselves? Ms. Michelle, her youthfulness, and her tenacity to keep the “whip” clearly visible! (Just kidding…she doesn’t need a whip. When you’re with her, you want to help her. She has that kind of personality)

Anyways, what I’m trying to say is doing something as simple as data entry for your local party is VALUABLE. Get involved! I’ve never canvassed neighborhoods before and today will be the first time, but I made a promise to myself last year and the beginning of this year that I would help out to try to make a difference whether it’s for local, state, or national races and to help in some small way in making the Maine Democratic Party more stronger than it was before!

It doesn’t take a lot of effort. You’ll have people with you who might also be feeling anxiety doing new things, but that’s okay, you’ll have each other to lean on. See? Just like family & friends. :-)

Get involved! Go Obama!!!!

John McCain admits that Osama bin Laden is dead

Posted by kayinmaine on May 16, 2008

Ooopsie. Was he supposed to let that cat out of the bag, you know, especially since he’s Bush’s 3rd term and Bush has run on the “fact” that Osama is still out there….(America’s Boogeyman, oh the horrors! Que the CIA tape with the old picture of Osama with the voice over please! Cut. And action!)….to keep American’s in fear?

So now what the hell is McCrazy going to use now when he wants to scare Americans into voting for him after he tells us he’s the only guy who can save us from the Big Bad Osama? Ooopsie. Que the Brain Enhancer Pills!

It’s nice to know that McCrazy has now admitted war crimes have been committed since 9/11/01. Maybe besides banging rocks together and screaming at trees in the park, McCrazy will start yelling, “Impeach the members of the White House”!!!!!

That would be nice. I wonder what else McCrazy knows?

George W. Betrayus…well…continues to do so…

Posted by kayinmaine on May 16, 2008

(pic)

Yesterday morning I watched the first part of George & Laura’s arrival in Israel. The whole thing creeped me out. There were the little Israeli children (you know, the little angels who like to write messages on bombs before the Israelis launch them onto the heads of Palestinians….those kinds of Israeli children. Spit.) singing songs in English to George & Laura Bush as they walked up to the Israeli Parliament. The Parliament went wild once their War Crimes Sugar Daddy walked into the building. Ahhhh yes, it was the meeting of the neocons and it was glorious. Hitler would have had the same reaction by his Nazis for sure!

Protecting Israel and not America is the goal of the neocons.

So there was America’s Bushitler talking to the Israeli Parliament and using his speech to go after the candidate who thinks giving peace a chance by talking with those who hate us is bad foreign policy! Uh hello, America’s Bushitler! Bombing, killing, maiming, raping, and torturing people hasn’t worked either! Thanks to you and Israel, our nation is more hated today than anytime in our history! Assholes!!!!

Barack Obama
Jimmy Carter
Bob Gates
Ronald Reagan

Three of these are individuals…who today…thinks it’s a good thing to reach out to those who wish to harm us (Reagan, when president, reached out to the Soviet Union), because an “Eye for an Eye & a Tooth for a Tooth” just isn’t working anymore!

(CLICK HERE TO READ BARACK OBAMA’S REACTION TO WHAT GEORGE BUSH SAID)

And is George Bushitler uniting our country by lambasting one of our own? Geee, now where have I heard that complaint before? Oh that’s right! Remember how the reich wingers of America (the GOP) grabbed their crotches like a bunch of 2 year olds who had to pee bad, because Moveon.org called General Petraeus, “General Betrayus”, and remember how the reich wingers wouldn’t admit that Rush Limbaugh had also called, Senator Chuck Hagel, “Senator Betrayus”? Huh?

Oh that’s right! It’s okay if you’re a republican! Yep, reich wingers of America can say what they want about individual Americans or about our country as a whole, oh but when a lefty says something along the same lines….BAMMO!….the shit hits the fan!

George Bushitler will be meeting with his War Crime Sugar Daddies today in Saudi Arabia. Will George mention how he’s been allowing the Saudi royal family to fund the Sunnis in Iraq, you know, the Sunnis which Osama bin Laden is a part of? Will he talk about how 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudi Arabians and how Bush’s buddies helped get the bin Ladens living in America out of our country after 9/11 to PROTECT THEM? How about gas/oil prices? Will Bushitler mention that or will he just point fingers again at Barack for not supporting the lame, “Gas Tax Holiday”? Will he talk about he’s BETRAYED America every day since he and Dick Cheney did a soft coup of America in 2000 when their fishing buddies on the US Supreme Court picked them to lead our nation without counting all the votes?

I agree with Joe Biden’s reaction to George Bush going after Barack Obama: “THIS IS BULLSHIT”!

If you’re an Obama delegate/alternate in Maine, read this post

Posted by kayinmaine on May 15, 2008

May 30, 31, June 1 - Democratic State Convention at Augusta Civic Center. Details at www.mainedems.org

Tonight I went to Bethel to meet with other Obama delegates/alternates from the Oxford County area and one thing was clear throughout the whole night:

YOU MUST SHOW UP AT THE STATE CONVENTION IF YOU’RE A DELEGATE OR AN ALTERNATE!!!! Yes, even if you’re an ALTERNATE…..YOU STILL NEED TO SHOW UP!

Why? Because if not enough Obama delegates and alternates show up, Hillary could be who Maine chooses for the National Convention! OMG people, we can’t have that happening! Bluck! After all our hard work, can you imagine that happening? I can’t even fathom it!

Okay, before I put too much pressure on you and before you throw up, let me be clear: IF YOU ARE A DELEGATE OR AN ALTERNATE AND CAN’T MAKE THE CONVENTION, you need to RESIGN from your position officially, especially if you’re a delegate. This has to be done so the towns/counties will know which delegates need to be filled in with alternates. Some of this switching around can also occur at the State Convention.

Are we clear? You must show up!

By the way, registering and paying the $35 dollar fee is not the only thing you have to do to participate in the State Convention. You ALSO have to check in either on Friday evening (12-9pm) at the Augusta Civic Center or you can come early on Saturday to check in. “Checking in” means you are physically at the Convention to get your credentials so you CAN vote for Obama. If you’re not checked in by 9am on Saturday morning, YOU CANNOT VOTE. You will also be reduced to “guest” status….even if you are a delegate. Very, very important to check in, people!

Anyways, tonight’s meeting was great. Josh Hyman of the Obama campaign out of Bangor was there to speak to all of us. He’s young and full of energy! Love that. I had to laugh when one woman in the room asked Josh what to do if your friend is a Hillary delegate but she’s now saying she wants to vote for Obama at the State Convention. Before Josh could answer, the woman sitting next to me and I both said in unison, “You tell her, ‘yes’. Yes she can!”. Well, guess what? She can vote for Obama, even if she checks in as a Hillary delegate. Fantastic, huh? I wonder how many Hillary delegates/alternates are going to do that? I hope a lot!

Another highlight of the night was hearing again that there’s going to be a “special” speaker at our Convention on that Saturday. It’s a big name speaker too. Many of us kept trying to get Josh to tell us who it was (we kept asking if it was John Edwards), but he wouldn’t tell us. Damn it. I wonder who it will be? It’s not John Edwards per Josh. Will it be Ted Kennedy? Wow! That would be cool. Well, one thing is for sure…we’re all going to find out at the Convention! Woohoo!

Paragraph from tonight’s Convention Highlights:

“OBAMA SPEECH AND FLOOR DEMONSTRATION 10:30a.m.”
>
Be on the floor of convention at 10:30, and be prepared to march, wave a sign, and cheer for the next President of the United States! Bring a homemade sign, or pick up an official Obama campaign sign on your way in. Our candidates will be well represented by surrogates who will ask us to show that we are fired up and ready to go! Are you ready?”

I’m ready!!!! I can’t wait. I was thinking for my sign I might write, “It’s All About The “O”, what do you think? What should I write on the back? Any suggestions? Or should I can it and go with something else?

I am so pumped up!

What a long day today was, though. Wow. I got up at 5:30am, had my son out the door by 7am to go to school, left my house @ 8am, went to the Post Office, drove 1.25 hours to clean a house that takes 5 hours to complete, drove home another 1.25 hours or so, did some laundry, got my son’s dinner prepared for him, wrote a blog post, and then screamed to Bethel which is another 1/2 hour of driving one way! I’m pooped. LOL You should have seen my eyes at the meeting tonight! They looked horrid!

U.S. House of Reps passes bill to defund the Iraq occupation!

Posted by kayinmaine on May 15, 2008

(pic)

I was riding home today when my local news radio station reported the US House had just passed a bill that has not one red penny going to the occupation of Iraq, but rather, the money will go to our soldier’s needs. Woohoo! Apparently and from what I gathered on the short announcement is the republicans were playing games today with the Democrats, so the Democrats called their bluff and forced a vote. The republics realizing how stupid they themselves are decided to all vote “present” for this vote! Well, the Democrats voted in favor of it and it has now passed!

I found this article on it just now…

The Senate will tackle & rehash this bill, but man, this bill is a start! Way to go Democrats!!!

Okay, gotta go! Talk to you all tomorrow! ;-)

Obama delegates meeting tonight…

Posted by kayinmaine on May 15, 2008

Tonight I’ll be meeting with Obama delegates to talk about the State Convention in June, so chances are, I won’t be around tonight to blog with all of you. So in the meantime, here’s the video Ox wants everyone to watch:

(Ox, if this isn’t the video, please post the link in the comment section for everyone to watch. You send me way too much some days. Couldn’t possibly post it all!) :-)

I believe the biggest conspiracies come from those in our government and any conspiracy you and I come up with is nothing compared to what these assholes have done for years. Even 9/11/01 is the biggest conspiracy in the history of our nation that was hashed out in the 1990’s by Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Bremer, John Negroponte, Bill Kristol and others. Being in Iraq and all that has happened since 9/11 is all part of their evil conspiracy and is a war crime.

(pic)

The fact that NO F-16’s/F-15’s were called up the morning of 9/11 to intercept these planes is a huge indicator to me that THOSE IN THE KNOW wanted the attack to go flawlessly, because prior to 9/11 that year there were at least 60 incidences across our country when our military was called upon to check on planes that had gone off course (usually all it takes is for a plane to go off course 5 degrees to get a call from the ground) or had flown into illegal air space (mostly around the White House….small planes fly into this 15 mile radius all the time and if there’s no response from the pilot, the F-16s/F-15’s go up). Anyways, we were duped on 9/11 and everything the Bush Regime has done in response to it has been a war crime.

I still don’t understand how a large Boeing plane could come in for a “landing” in front of the Pentagon a few feet from the ground, perfectly level, without hitting a car or a tree & breaking apart before impact. Had the video shown the plane coming in from high in the sky and at a weird angle hitting the top floors of the Pentagon, I wouldn’t still be questioning it.

So, where did the people go who were on the real plane that was supposed to be the one that hit the Pentagon that day? I think the pilot was ordered to land somewhere else in our country thinking they were going to be safe by doing so. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if the people on this plane are still being held captive somewhere…or maybe they’ve been brought out of the country. Don’t know, but if I’m right about this, then those people still believe today they’re hostages.

By the way, before you say, “Obama delegates believe in this stuff?”, let me tell you that a good friend of mine is a Hillary supporter (one of the few in my life who is) and she believes 9/11 was a big hoax perpetrated by our government. Hell, a few of my republican friends still have questions about that day too, though, they’re more inclined to not go any further with their questioning! Had our government treated 9/11 as a REAL crime scene, you know…a murder, then non-jackboot-licking-Bush-supporting investigators would have given us some REAL answers, but until that ever happens, we will keep questioning and sharing what we know. Hey, to be a good patriot, one must question authority and hold their leaders accountable. Unfortunately for us, we have a Regime in the White House who thinks they don’t have to answer to anyone. They’re traitors!

Okay, talk amongst yourselves about this. ;-)

John Edwards has endorsed Barack Obama

Hillary waves bub-bye…

(pic)

Oh gawd! That means Hillary is gonna yell, “But I’m the white hard working female candidate! I’m not black Johnny! I’m a hard worker for crying out loud! I also carry a gun, drink Budweiser, and am a great bowler!”.

John Edwards is speaking right now about his endorsement of Barack.

George Bush continues to sacrifice for our troops

Posted by kayinmaine on May 14, 2008

Yep. He gave up playing golf in 2003 and is still sacrificing for our troops today. Behold our great Decider! What a role model he is!

A ’secret source’ tells me that George Bush & Dick Cheney continue to sacrifice for our troops by giving up…

Sugar

Salt

Patting kittens

Putting their pants on one leg at a time

Soft drinks

Playing poker

Knitting sweaters

Playing guitar while Americans are drowning in their attics (see picture above)

Making phone calls past midnight

Sleeping until 2pm everyday

Taking dance lessons

Eating cake

Wow. I am so impressed with the Dear Leaders! How else have these two sacrificed? I’m sure the Mothers & Fathers of our soldiers would love to know! And all this time they thought George & Dickie giving up golf was incredibly selfless!

Is Barack Obama the only candidate who can fix the economy?

Posted by kayinmaine on May 14, 2008

Well, according to three former FEC Chairmen, he can and all three are throwing their support to Barack Obama today.

From the Wall Street Journal:

Three former chairmen of the Securities and Exchange Commission will publicly endorse Democratic Sen. Barack Obama’s bid for the presidency Wednesday, including one who served under President Bush.
>
William Donaldson, who was SEC chairman for about 2½ years from early 2003, along with Clinton and Reagan appointees Arthur Levitt and David Ruder, will join former Fed Chairman Paul Volcker in endorsing Sen. Obama, his campaign said. Mr. Volcker endorsed Sen. Obama in January.
>
In a statement released by the campaign, the four men said they believed Sen. Obama would take a “reasoned approach” to “balanced regulatory reform.” As with rival presidential candidates Sens. John McCain and Hillary Clinton, Mr. Obama has advocated revamping financial regulations to head off a repeat of the current credit crisis. Unlike the other two, Sen. Obama has said he would consider raising the capital-gains tax rate from its current 15% — a move that could have a profound effect on the financial industry.

What’s so interesting about these three is they’re from the Reagan, Clinton & current Bush Administrations. I love that. Oh what a slap in the face that is to John McCain and Hillary Clinton! Oh well for them. A good portion of America wants a change in the direction our country is going and the only candidate right now who can do that is Barack Obama. The other two may have years of experience, but as we’ve witnessed over the past year, their experience is flawed, boring, and tired. Both McCain & Clinton will result in a 3rd term for the Bush Regime and quite frankly, Americans are petrified of that. Real change means hiring the person who has a clean slate and who has the passion to unite our country in a positive way!

Go OBAMA!
